The moment the security guards forced us out of the building, my father collapsed.
His body went rigid mid-step, eyes rolling back as his knees buckled. I barely caught him before he hit the pavement.
"Dad! Dad!"
My hands were shaking as I lowered him to the ground, one palm pressing against his chest where his wolf should have been surging to heal him.
