They laid there for a while as Riley listened to Kent’s breathing as it evened out. She laid there long after he had fallen asleep, just enjoying the feel of being in his arms. I could get used to this, Rose murmured in her mind. Me too, Riley admitted, burying her nose into his chest to breathe in his scent. She had been fighting this bond for weeks and she was realizing how exhausting that fight was. Her body and soul yearned to be with him to the point that being away from him caused her physical pain. There was a knock at the door that drew her attention. She glanced at Kent who was sleeping peacefully before sliding out of his embrace.
