55. Chat on the Balcony Michelle Ryan is sitting on my small balcony, surrounded by blooming geraniums. The image is almost surreal. His rigid posture and the way he glances sideways at the street tell me he's not comfortable. Or maybe it's just my perception. "Do you want more water?" I ask to be polite, but he immediately shakes his head. I brought him a glass a few minutes ago, and he drank it with eagerness, as if the simple act of drinking helped him focus. "No, I'm fine…" he says, releasing a barely audible sigh. "What do you want to talk about?"
