We sit in silence for a few moments, but it's a comfortable one.
"Mhm… Susy has a message for you. Her birthday is next Saturday and she wants a small party. She'd love for you to come."
I didn't respond immediately. I'm worried she's getting her hopes up about me.
"Well… I was thinking of visiting my parents that weekend," I say in an indecisive voice, and I think he noticed.
