The next morning, the scene from last night was still imprinted on my mind.
Maybe I have been so delusional about his actions that I thought he was actually still into me.
I got up and began preparing for today. It’s Monday so I’m going to drop the twins to school before I head to work.
“Where’s Alpha Wade?” Zoey asked, picking up her school bag.
It took me a couple more seconds before I came up with an answer. “Uh, he got very tired last night, that's why he’s still asleep in his room.”
“Can’t we see him to at least say goodbye, Mom?” Evan chimed in.
Letting out a deep sigh, I shook my head. “No, Evan. I’m sorry. But I’m sure you’re gonna have the chance to see him after school.”
