Maisie’s POV The pack house had never felt so alive—or so cruel. Laughter and music drifted from every open window. Crystal chandeliers had been polished until they threw rainbows across the marble floors I’d scrubbed until my knuckles bled. Garlands of white moonflowers and silver ribbons twisted around banisters and columns, turning the entire building into something almost beautiful. Almost regal.
