Chapter 1
Mia’s POV.
The phone rang right in the middle of my afternoon while I was trying to finish some work on my laptop.
I picked it up and heard my mom’s voice, all cheerful like she was doing me a favor.
“Mia, honey, your stepdad’s boys need a place to crash for a bit. Dylan and Kylan are home from college for the summer and the house is getting some work done. You’ve got the space, right? They won’t be any trouble.”
I sighed but said yes because what else was I supposed to do?
“Sure, Mom. Send them over. I’ll get the guest room ready.”
By the time evening rolled around they were already there, bags dumped in the living room, laughing loud and filling the whole apartment with their energy.
