  Gwen was taken aback by the intensity in her voice.   Zarelle rarely launched such an all-out assault without reason, without careful consideration.   Something significant must be unfolding, something that had pushed her past her limits.   “All right, I’ll take care of it immediately,” he responded, his voice tinged with curiosity but knowing better than to ask questions.   As she gave her instructions, Zarelle felt a sense of relief washing over her like a cleansing wave.   Taking action always made her feel better, more in control.   Elsa gave her a thumbs up, a mischievous glimmer in her eyes. “That’s my Zarelle, ruthless and unyielding. I love it.”   Her approval was fierce, proud.   Zarelle managed a smile, but Calden’s face lingered in her mind, unwanted and persistent.
