“Zarelle darling! There’s a gala tonight, and you’re invited.”
Zarelle was taken aback, confused. “What kind of gala?”
“The entertainment kind, what else? You know, the kind that brings together celebrities, public figures, industry professionals. Red carpet arrivals, performances, a chance to see and be seen.”
“Did they invite you or me?” she asked suspiciously.
“Both. We got separate invitations delivered to the house. I just saw yours.”
What did an entertainment gala have to do with her? She ran a tech company, not a talent agency.
