“Zarelle, I know how fond you are of Arnold.” Caitlin grasped her hand. “Which is what worries me. The closer you are to Arnold, the closer you’ll inevitably get to William. It could be dangerous to you. Especially if William starts developing feelings for you.”
“He most certainly does not have feelings for me,” Zarelle protested.
“That’s not the point. The point is, if his family thinks he’s falling for you, they might do to you what they did to my sister Jack. Being the daughter of the powerful Feymere family won’t help you, not when you are up against men as ruthless as the Aldexs.”
