Kai was absent today, and maybe that’s part of the reason my mood is so foul. For one, he’s my fated mate, whether I want him to be or not. And two, I’ve worked far too hard setting the stage to watch him suffer, only for him to hide away at home all day.
On top of that, tomorrow is the rematch with Silver Moon, and the weight of it hangs heavily on my mind, and I cut Xavier off today when he brought it up. I knew he wanted to ask me to accompany him again.
My thoughts keep drifting back to the hotel and what Xavier and I did there. Just thinking about it warms my skin, sending a betraying prickle of tingles throughout my entire body.
