Still, I knew they wouldn’t voice any displeasure openly. And if I remembered correctly, Helio had said that the moment Julian came of age, he would hand the title over to me. Then he and I would leave everything behind and live a quiet, normal life far away from the pack and all its troubles. But first, he needed to clean up the mess surrounding us.
Last night, after returning from the council meeting, Helio had reassured me that I had absolutely nothing to worry about, nor did my mother. He had even mentioned that if we ever wanted a child, we could adopt one. The thought made me smile softly. If we were ever going to do that, I would want a little girl. I had a feeling Helio would make an amazing girl dad, and deep down, I really liked that idea.
