Ashton’s POV The taxi glides to a halt outside of my house at just past five in the morning. The early Saturday sun has barely risen as I lean forward and pay the driver in cash. I hand him a generous tip, a silent thank you for not attempting to talk sports with me during the ride from the Arena, something that previous drivers have been inclined to do. I climb out, hoisting my suitcase from the seat beside me, and shut the door carefully, the cab peeling away from the curb as I head toward the front door. Stepping onto the welcome mat, I dig into my pocket, pulling out my keys and fumble through them until I find the right one.
