Luna’s POV I wake up to sunlight flickering across my face, stinging my eyes. I squint and hold up a hand toward the brightness to shield my eyes as my other hand gropes blindly across the nightstand for my cell phone. My fingers wrap around the small device; I lift it up, holding it closer, inches from my nose, blinking at the blurry, glowing digits, as I try to make out what it says. Seven . . . one . . . five? Maybe? Seven . . . Eight . . . Eight? With a heavy sigh, I roll over and pick up my glasses. As I slide them onto the bridge of my nose, the world comes into focus again. Seven, twenty three . . . I was close. I’m surprised at how late I slept; this is very unusual for me. I’m surprised Beth hasn’t woken . . . My eyes widen at the partially formed thought. Beth! Where is she?
