Luna’s POV ‘Come on! Let’s go!’ Beth groans from between us, her voice strained with excitement. ‘I want to show Luna the starfish! You can pet them,’ she adds, ‘though you have to be really, really gentle or you might hurt them.’ I smile at her seriousness, nodding along. ‘I will be very careful’ I promise. We make our way toward the gate that leads into the heart of the Aquarium. Ashton presents our ticket stubs to the attendant, before we are let through. We head down a long, sloping tunnel painted to look like the ocean floor; we descend deeper into the cool gloom while Beth points eagerly at vibrant caricatures of the sea creatures that decorate the walls. ‘That’s a stingray’ she tells me, her voice echoing off the curved ceiling. ‘And that is a Mana . . . mina . . . monato ray’
