Ashton’s POV As Luna starts to stand up and stumbles, my instincts kick in. I reach out to steady her, offering my hand, which she hesitantly accepts. The moment my skin makes contact with hers though; a spark of awareness shoots up my arm like a live wire. I almost recoil from the weird sensation. I have no idea what is happening; I’ve never had something like this happen before. I vaguely wonder if I’ve just caught a stray bolt of static electricity, maybe from the carpet, but the heat lingering in my palm says I’m wrong. Luna slowly rises to her feet, I can feel the trembling of her skin against mine as her eyes raise up to meet me. Something passes between us, a connection that makes me feel unnaturally nervous.
