For the rest of the night, I made sure to stay near Emma. Seeing her have that panic attack earlier was hard to watch. I couldn’t stop blaming myself for some of the stress that she is under. I can’t help that I wanted her from the moment she fell into my arms. I had honestly never known love could feel like this. I’ve dated, I’ve got some experience.
But I’m so thankful that my father warned all of us about what would happen once I found my ‘forever’ person. He pointed out how uncomfortable that would make my wife. I hated hearing it at the time, but after putting myself in her shoes. I wouldn’t want her ex’s popping up in front of me either.
