“Colton, stop,” Emma replied, her cheeks flushed with color at my words.
“I will never stop letting you know just how much I love you. So you need to just get used to hearing it, love, because I'm not going to stop,” I replied.
Life was too short; I wasn’t going to let another moment pass without showing Emma just how much she meant to me. I adored my beautiful wife, and I wanted everyone to know it. I had been so terrified of losing her. Scared to death that something would happen to her when I couldn’t protect her from the danger. The moment after I was shot was the scariest one of my life because I knew I couldn't control what happened next. I never wanted to repeat it.
