Emma’s POV
I ate only because my mother and Della made me, but I managed only a few bites. I sat by his bedside, praying for him to wake up. My mother got me a room at a nearby hotel. That way I could wash up and get the blood off of me once he got the all clear after the surgery. I didn’t want to go all the way home to grab a shower and change. That would take too long. I wanted to stay close in case something happened.
