I listened to Rowan’s advice and sent my father an email. It felt so weird as I drafted an apology email for my father. I mean, I could talk to him freely, but now, our relationship was strained.
After I sent it, I went over to my mother’s room.
“Riley, I haven’t seen you all day.” My mother said as I walked into her room. “How are you doing?” She asked with a hint of genuine concern in her voice.
I was a bit confused. Wasn’t she also angry at me?
I sat down on her bed while she sat in front of that vanity. “You didn’t want to see,” I replied, my voice tight. “I’m doing fine, how are you doing?”
My mother turned around with a puzzled expression registered on her face. “What do you mean by that?” She asked, staring intently at me.
