I picked up the kids from their house because I wanted to be the one to drive them to their birthday party. They were both dressed up as Minnie and Mickey from their favorite cartoon show.
On our way there, I received a call from my sister. “Caroline, what’s going on?” I asked as I answered the call on speaker.
“I just wanted to apologize for being absent today. I really wanted to attend the kid's party, since it was their first time celebrating with you.”
