Jamie’s eyes widened. “How long did it last?”
“Three months,” Dominic said calmly. “Exactly three.”
Damien’s stomach sank.
“One day, Malia called him and said she wanted to talk. Julian thought—finally—it was over.” Dominic smiled ruefully. “Instead, she told him she wanted to break up.”
A beat.
“He begged. She didn’t budge. All she said was, ‘Until you understand what you did—and how you hurt me—I’m not taking you back.’”
Dominic leaned forward slightly.
“Then one night, alone in our dorm, he went through their old photos. Remembered how they started.” His eyes softened. “And suddenly… it clicked.”
Jamie held his breath.
