I turned away from Natalia, ignoring the flash of annoyance on Lilith’s face. She always got that look when I interacted with Natalia for too long. As if she was afraid I might suddenly decide to leave her for my ex-wife.
Little did Lilith know that Natalia and I had had s*x just a few nights ago.
I pushed the thought away. It wouldn’t do me any good to dwell on it now. I had gotten the information I’d wanted from that night; Natalia had lost the tiny life of our child before it even had a chance to have a heartbeat, and besides, I was ashamed.
