I was so glad that we were able to get through the Benjamin’s situation without our secret being unraveled. Patrick’s name was cleared and the court made a public announcement that he wasn’t guilty.
It felt like a heavy weight was lifted off our shoulders.
The air felt lighter and the past few weeks were amazing.
Apart from the fact that those mafia members forced Patrick to help them launder money through his company, everything else was going great.
I didn’t want to focus on the bad sides of my life, I just wanted to hold on to the amazing parts.
As I sat down on the bed, lost in my thoughts, my phone chimed with a notification. I already knew what it was — a reminder of my doctor’s appointment.
It was my usual check-up for my pregnancy.
