“Happy birthday, Liam.” I kissed him on the forehead as he opened his eyes.
His lips curled into a small smile and he rubbed his eyes with his hands. “It’s already morning?” He asked, sitting upright on the bed.
I nodded, a proud smile registered on my face. “Yes, baby. And it’s your birthday too.” I pulled him into a tight hug. “How does it feel being five?”
Liam shrugged. “I don’t know, it feels amazing.”
“I’m so proud of you.” I planted another kiss on his forehead. “You’ve grown so big.”
It felt so surreal watching him grow — my little boy. I still remember the day he was born. I was alone and didn’t have anybody by my side.
I kept the pregnancy a secret from everyone and fled to another city. At some point, I wondered if I had made a mistake
