I knew it would be worth it when I used my connections to get Jamal a good movie deal that he wouldn’t be able to turn down — not even because of Valerie.
After he left, the air felt lighter. I was finally able to breathe properly. Valerie moved into my house and my plans were getting back on track.
As much as I wanted her back, I didn’t pressure her. I didn’t bring up the past or beg for forgiveness. I gave her space, letting her navigate the new development.
Instead, I made subtle gestures. Like making sure she always had her favorite coffee in the morning. Taking care of Liam while letting her sleep a little longer.
I made sure she felt comfortable in the house because I knew she wasn’t okay with the decision. I didn’t want her to second-guess it
