I was meant to leave early in the morning, so I went to bed immediately after my phone call with Valerie ended. The sound of the annoying alarm clock woke me up from my sleep.
Letting out a loud yawn, I sat upright on the bed.
I was tempted to sleep back, but I didn’t want to miss my flight.
Shortly after, I was ready to leave for the airport.
As I got into the car, I decided to check my phone to see if I had gotten any calls or messages. My face formed into a frown when I saw a text from Massimo.
[ Don’t forget about our deal. The new assistant is starting on Monday.]
So he was actually serious?
I swiped his text away with annoyance.
Then I saw that I had a few calls from Jordan, Liam’s phone, and Madison.
