H A I L E Y The wave of nausea that hit me the next morning was unlike anything I’ve ever felt before, I was running towards the bathroom, my hand over my mouth. I barely made it to the toilet before I was emptying my stomach, a violent, painful heaving that left me shaking and weak. Dominic was there in an instant, his strong arms wrapping around me, a steadying force that kept me from collapsing. He held my hair, his other hand rubbing my back in a comforting, circular motion. "It's okay," he murmured, his voice a low, soothing balm. "I'm here. I've got you." When I was done, I leaned my head against the cool porcelain of the toilet, a wave of dizziness washing over me. I felt so weak, so vulnerable, so broken. He helped me up and led me back to the bed, my legs buckling beneath me.
