Dominic took me aside until we were out of earshot, I could still feel Tricia's gaze on me. His hands found my waist and he pulled me close.
"I know this is difficult," he said, his voice a low, earnest murmur. "But I can't just turn her away. Not when she's like this. I’d rather have her here, where I can keep an eye on her, than have her out there, somewhere, plotting against us."
