Lola’s POV. Six days have passed by, in a haze of painkillers, sleep and eating. That is pretty much all I’ve done. I have been too sore to move around much and the bruises have finally stopped darkening and are starting to fade. They look more hideous than when they started. Some are yellow, others are like a green colour. I look like a painting made by a four-year-old. But I’m feeling better today, not as achy as I was when I came here. Mika has been an absolute angel. He hasn’t really left my side. Especially while I’m awake. I woke up one day from a long nap to find him gone, but one of the dogs was laying beside me.
