Lola’s POV. Today is the day I’m meeting my dad for lunch. I’m a nervous wreck. What if mom is there and comes to get involved? What do I do? I can’t exactly throw hands with her. Maybe this is a bad idea. Maybe I should just cancel, tell him I got eaten by a mountain lion or something? Do they have mountain lions in Colorado? I don’t know, but I need to back out. This was a bad idea. “Lola, you’re spiralling again.” Mika says as he works on his laptop from the desk in the far corner. He isn’t even looking at me. “Am not.” I deny. “I can feel the energy rippling around you. You are trying to talk yourself out of seeing your dad.” I turn and look at the back of his head with my mouth open. “Ok, fine. I am. I am thinking about what if she is there or her goons? I don’t want to do this.
