When I woke up, Damon had already left.
I reached over to his side of the bed. The sheets were cool. He'd been gone for a while.
A small pang of disappointment hit me. I'd gotten used to waking up next to him whenever we slept together, to those quiet morning moments before the day started. But then I noticed the note on the nightstand.
