Olivia “For f.ucks sake, Olivia! Why aren’t you answering your phone!” Renee shouted at me, causing me to pull the phone away from my ear. Behind the steering wheel, Josiah lifted an eyebrow. “I was indisposed,” I said dryly. “Look, where are you right now?” “I’m at the pack house, but that’s why I've been trying to call you! Josiah’s Aunt Vero is having a mental breakdown!” “Yeah, about that–” In the background of the phone I heard a woman screaming and snarling. “Renee, listen to me! Everything that’s been happening, the drugs, the night I was attacked, what happened to Avalon, it’s all Vero!” “What!?” I couldn’t tell if she hadn’t heard me, or if she was just in shock over what i had told her. “Livvie, I think something happened to the beta, Vero’s been screaming for him!”
