“Mr Case, there is an urgent call for you.” Amanda’s voice said over the intercom.
Urgent calls can mean a few things. If it was Laura, Amanda would have said it was her. My guess it’s either from my parents or from one of my junior executives about a deal they are trying to make.
I picked up the phone, “Stephen Case.” I said into the phone.
“Mr Case, I’m sorry to bother you, but this is Adam Humphreys’s. I met you at your wedding. I was with Joseph.” He said to me.
“Yes, I remember you. How is Joseph?” I asked him.
“That’s why I am calling you. It’s time.” Adam said to me.
I closed my eyes, “Does that mean… Joesph?” I asked. For the first time I didn’t know how to ask a question.
“Not yet, but I think it’s gonna be tonight.” He told me.
