"Hey mum, I'm stepping out. Be back in a jiffy."
Damian announced as he, Jack and I passed the kitchen where his mum was busy with the stove.
"Alright. Be back in time for lunch," she said.
They crossed the living room where his dad sat reading a newspaper.
"I'll be back soon,dad," Damian called out. "I want to introduce Jack and Tori to the neighbourhood. "
"Alright," His dad replied with a wave of the hand, not taking his eyes off the newspaper.
"I don't get what that man sees in that paper," Damian mumbled as he closed the door.
Jack chuckled, adjusting the scarf he wore around his neck.
"Hey, come on." I jabbed Damian. "He could be checking for some interesting news."
"Oh, please," Damian scoffed. "Nothing interesting happens in this town anywhere. For a while now."
