Jack and I approached my uncle's office. So far the day had been uneventful. But the only thing that brightened my day was the ever constant smile on Jack's face. Beside the embarrassing situation that happened he previous day with his mum, he had been in a constant mood. If I was to put a finger to it, I would say he had been that way since he came back from his cousin's place.
We heard Uncle Wes speak to someone in the other end before we could knock. I glanced at Jack for help. He rolled his eyes.
"You really want to spy on your uncle?" he said.
"Come on, babe," I whined, giving him the best version of a puppy dog eyes.
There was silence as our expressions battled. His scowl against my pleading one. After a while he sighed.
