Lucius’s POV
After Katie left, I couldn’t help but sink into my thoughts again; as I looked over the plan to find her other mate.
I was prepared to give out orders to my men when an overwhelming uneasiness clawed at me. Something was pulling at me, my wolf was growing more and more restless.
This new, restless, uneasy feeling agitated me. I don’t like unexpected things, much less not understanding what was happening with my own body.
Yet, I quickly worked out the reason for my current state. It was Katie. Something was happening with her and my wolf was picking up on it through the newly formed mate connection.
What hit me first was the stench of blood; so not bothering to knock, I walked in. Breaking the lock, found Katie seemingly unconscious on the floor.
