Luci had walked into her room to speak with her mother about how the mating alliance had been sorted out, that Orien had helped to get it null and voided. That it was all over, that she would no longer be mated-off to Victor.
Her mother had gotten up and walked away from Luci, muttering “Just stay out of it Luci.”
