With all the courage I could muster, I swallowed hard, biting my lip as I slowly lifted my gaze to meet Ethan’s.
I was ready.
Ready to list every single reason why this bond between us was a mistake. Ready to tear it apart piece by piece, to give him all the cons, all the reasons why he needed to let me go, why he deserved better, why this—us—was never going to work.
