Damien’s POV
Elena’s eyes rolled back without warning. One moment she was standing there, voice raised in anger, the next her knees buckled and her body went completely limp.
I lunged forward on pure instinct, catching her before she could hit the floor. Her breathing was shallow, too shallow, and her skin felt clammy against my hands.
“Elena!” My voice cracked as I held her tighter, one arm under her knees, the other supporting her back. “Elena, wake up! What is happening? Talk to me!”
Sofia was already at my side, her face drained of color, eyes wide with terror. “Damien, what did you do? She was yelling at you a second ago! She was fine!”
