I held Parker to my chest as we sat on the couch and waited to hear them call all clear. I was glad when it finally came, and I felt Parker sag against me in relief. I played with her fingers as I let her calm down. Neither of us had mentioned it yet, but we both heard the bullet rip into the ground behind us.
