Caden was right. The moment our baby was placed on my chest, I knew that I would go through it all over again, in a heartbeat. I loved her instantly, and I loved seeing Caden’s eyes light up when it was his turn to hold her. He held her tightly against his chest and whispered to her, “Hey, baby girl, I’m your Dad.”
She recognized his voice, just as she had recognized mine, and turned her head towards him, opening her eyes against the low lighting.
