Caden’s POV
Christmas Day, a few weeks later:
Everyone had gathered here, and lunch was still in the oven. Our home was warm and inviting, and Connor and Brooks were here to celebrate with us. I already know that this Christmas seemed to be the best one in years. Everyone was happy and relaxed, and even Cassidy was much more pleasant to be around. I have to admit that things were pretty perfect today.
We had opened half of the gifts earlier, but were going to open the other half after lunch. It was something new we were trying out, as with all of us here together, there were a large number of presents. I had made sure that the gifts I had made for Parker, Brooks, and my mother were with the second group, hidden in the extra bedroom downstairs.
