Parker’s POV
We had eaten dinner, and everyone was either at the kitchen island or at the table. Before they stood up and moved into the living room, I slid the bun inside the oven. I winked at Caleb, who winked back. He was so cute, but people noticed that he and Della were overly happy tonight.
Caden’s siblings watched as Caleb went into the kitchen and headed straight for the stove. They all saw him pull the oven door open and innocently ask, “Mom, why is there a bun in the oven?”
He didn’t expect the shriek of excitement that came from Cassidy or the cheers from his uncles as they clapped Caden on the back. He seemed surprised that they understood what it meant so quickly. He shut the oven door and came over to hug my leg.
