“You gonna talk?” Crow asked and the prospect swallowed hard.
“No.” He said so Roman punched him immediately.
“Well, worth a shot.” Crow muttered.
The interrogation continued for nearly an hour. Threats, questions and more threats.
The usual Devil’s Hollow communication strategy. And eventually the prospect cracked.
Mostly because Roman looked fully committed to removing body part.
“They got connections.” The kid blurted and Roman stopped.
“What connections?” Roman asked as the prospect breathed hard.
“Federal contacts.” He said.
Silence hit instantly and my stomach tightened.
“Explain.” Roman said and the prospect looked toward the floor.
“Some agents sell information.” The kid said.
Nobody spoke because suddenly things got much bigger and much uglier.
