The second Bones announced Crash was gone the entire club woke back up. Nobody slept and nobody relaxed. Nobody even pretended everything might be okay. The exhaustion hanging over Devil’s Hollow had already been bad before Crash disappeared but now everyone looked ready to collapse and commit murder at the same time. I wasn’t doing much better. My eyes burned and my muscles hurt and my brain felt slow. We had spent weeks dealing with raids, attacks, explosions, interrogations and endless church meetings and the lack of sleep was finally catching up to me.
