We got back to the hotel and I didn’t let the news I had just heard ruin the last surprise I had for Nessa.
“Close your eyes,” I said and put my hands over her eyes as I led her into the room.
She squealed and responded happily. “Okay.”
I led her into the room that was decorated with balloons and petals. I had arranged with the room service earlier to help me decorate the room with all the gifts I had gotten her.
I got her bags, shoes, flowers, and cards. I wanted her to have an unforgettable experience. She screamed in excitement as I took my hands off her eyes.
“You didn’t have to do all these for me.” She said and pulled me into a warm embrace. “Don’t make me cry.” She let go of me and wiped her teary eyes with the back of her hand.
