“He will.” I said.
“Should we respond if he does?” He asked.
“No.” I said.
I watched the video again and Jace would understand the message.
He would also understand that I was challenging him directly.
That was what I wanted.
Hours passed without a response. The Iron Vipers said nothing publicly. No statement came from Jace. No video appeared. No surrender.
Nothing.
I checked the feeds again. Still nothing and my jaw tightened.
“Why isn't he answering?” I asked as Damien looked at me.
“Because he doesn't have to.” Damien said as I turned toward him.
“What did you say?” I asked.
“You challenged him publicly, and he ignored you.” Damien said as I stared at him.
“He’s waiting.” I said.
“Maybe.” He said.
“He will respond.” I said.
“Maybe he has decided not to play your game.”
