All it took was one phone call for my entire day to be ruined.
I was in the hospital when I got the call about Bella being detained. She’d called me and I barely made out her words through tears. I ran out of the hospital, not even bothering to tell anyone where I was going. I didn’t even change out of my scrubs.
“Bella!” I yelled as soon as I got to the station. “That’s my friend. She called me. I’m here to see her.”
The officer stared at me blankly and took her precious f*****g time before gesturing to the back of the room. I ran as soon as I knew where I was going and stood in front of the cells that held Bella.
