Samantha was a gem, not at all angry with me or disappointed, understood what happened, and could understand how something so innocent was taken so far. She never interrupted or inserted any comments, just waited for me to finish. Her own parents would have pushed for the mating to be completed. If an alpha said she was her mate, her mother sounded a lot like mine, pushing to get the mating done, to save face. When you find your mate, you can hardly hold back, and it's worse for a ranking male; he would have to fight his wolf, not pick up his mate and rush her to bed to complete the mating bond.
